Will the Academy Nix Chris Rock?

(From the 'A Little Birdie Told Me' files)

NO. Why the hell do you think they chose him to host the frackin’ thing?

With other award show ratings in the shit-can, who better to prop up the anticipated crap out the Oscars are going to be? Gee do you think the switch from a tired old Jew (re: Billy Crystal) to an outspoken black comic might do the trick?

Duh.

The recent fervor is just what the ratings doctor ordered… I’ll bet you next week’s paycheck the numbers for this year’s Oscars will be higher than last year’s (and thereby bucking the recent trend)...

As if they don't plan these things... double duh.

Moonves Screws the Pooch

Trek Geeks (of which I’m one) worldwide have begun to mobilize in response to the news that UPN is canceling the Star Trek series Enterprise. Although floundering in the Nielsen’s, most feel it’s unfair to cancel the show without first attempting to boost the sagging ratings. It’s almost as if UPN and Viacom co-president Les Moonves have designed the series to fail.

Just one day after the announcement the Webmaster of SaveEnterprise.com has kicked the campaign into overdrive and has begun a massive battle to keep the show running for the promised seven-year stint. Below is one such interview:
