...abortions have occurred since the passing of Roe v. Wade.
Does anyone else find this disturbing in the extreme?
You know, Stalin once said, ‘A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic’. Is 47 million just a statistic?
Let me tell you a story.
Back when my oldest daughter was tucked safely within the womb, an ultrasound revealed the possibility that she might have Downs Syndrome. The doctor then presented us with an option. We, if we chose to, could terminate the pregnancy. We chose to keep the baby. Thank God. We would have terminated a wonderful, intelligent, beautiful girl, who, when born, did not have Downs. She cried and cried, but when the nurses put her in my arms, she stopped crying. It’s still commented upon that when she was put in daddy’s arms she felt safe enough to stop crying.
It was then I realized abortion is wrong.
The argument that abortion is necessary in cases of rape or incest or when the mother’s life is in jeopardy may still be valid… but 47 million?
My God what have we done?
